Today marks the 80th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima in Japan. This book by John Hersey remains as one of the best books about that tragic day. It has become an annual tradition for me to read it every year on the bombing's anniversary. It's a thin book so it's readable in a single seating.
More about the book (source: Wikipedia): "Hiroshima is a 1946 book by American author John Hersey. It tells the stories of six survivors of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima. It is regarded as one of the earliest examples of New Journalism, in which the story-telling techniques of fiction are adapted to non-fiction reporting."
