Baguio City Musician Dies In A Tragic Hit And Run Incident Along Bonifacio Street

A 21-year old musician in Baguio City passed away early this morning when he was hit by a car in front of a prominent university in the city. According to posts on Facebook by people familiar with the incident, Raymond Tacis, known to friends as RJ, was hit by a Ford Everest car in front of the main gate of Saint Louis University around 3:30 and 4:00 in the morning. The driver sped away after hitting Tacis, leaving him behind.

Tacis is from the town of Mangatarem in Pangasinan. He studied in Saint Louis University. As a musician, he plays as a vocalist and guitarist in various cafes, bars and restaurants in the city. The Ford Everest car that allegedly hit Tacis was colored red or maroon. It looked brand new and it didn't have a plate number in the rear.

Messages of condolences from friends and people who have known Tacis are left on the SLU Memes page which first announced the incident. Russel Hzyael writes, "He's a friend of mine. He's a very talented person. a very good guitarist and a singer who has a bright future to be exact. May we find justice for him. Rest In Peace bro! Magrereunion pa tayo eh."

Kevin Meing adds, "Ang hirap tanggapin...but I guess they're in need of your music up there. Pahinga lang bro.".
