Aliping Walks Out Of Liberal Party Meeting. Gets Called A Politically Immature Person.

Members and officers of the Baguio City chapter of the Liberal Party convened last August 11 at the Prince Plaza Hotel. Agenda for the meeting included LP leadership in the city and the nomination for the vacant council seat. It can be recalled that a seat in the city council was opened when vice-mayor Daniel Farinas suddenly passed away last May.

With number one councilor Edison Bilog promoted to take Farinas's vice-mayoralty seat, somebody has to take the space he left in the council. At the forefront to take the seat are Lilian Farinas (Daniel Farinas's widow and current barangay captain of Quezon Hill) and Mark Go (mayoralty candidate in the 2013 elections).

During the meeting last August 11, Congressman Nicasio Aliping Jr. reportedly walked out after declaring the meeting adjourned. According to the Baguio Liberals Facebook page, the solon walked out when Mark Go was nominated by the party for the vacant council seat. Obviously, Aliping does not agree with Go's nomination. It can be recalled that last May, Aliping backed a resolution endorsing the appointment of Lillian Farinas as city councilor.

Sun Star Baguio quoted former Baguio City councilor Jose Molintas calling Aliping a politically immature person. Molintas is also urging the congressman to take a leave from the Liberal Party as he is dragging the organization down with the cases filed against him in his alleged involvement in the destruction of a portion of Mt. Kabuyao in Sto. Tomas, Tuba.
