🐍 This is a Northern Philippine temple pit viper (Tropidolaemus subannulatus) that was spotted among sayote plants in Ambassador, Tublay, Benguet.
Its bright green color is the perfect camouflage. It hides the snake from potential predators. It also conceals the snake from prey like rodents, frogs, and birds.
This species is venomous. If you encounter one, you should keep your distance.
Aside from the Philippines, it's also native to Malaysia, Indonesia, and Brunei. Thus its other name which is Bornean keeled green pit viper.
