Bryan Jay P. Mundiguing Wins Altra 100 2025

Bryan Jay P. Mundiguing, a young trailrunner from Ifugao is the first to cross the finish line at the ongoing Altra 100 Miles race in Banaue, Ifugao. This makes him the champion of this year's edition of the grueling race that takes runners through two provinces: Ifugao and Mountain Province.

Mundiguing ran the 100-mile course in 43 hours and 30 minutes. The race began at the Banaue Ethnic Village last Thursday (August 21).

This is a tough race not just because of the distance (100 miles which is 161 kilometers). It's also because of the race's elevation profile. Along the course, runners have to climb two major Cordillera mountain peaks. They have to climb Mt. Napulauan (2642+ MASL) in Hungduan, Ifugao and Mt. Amuyao (2702+ MASL) in Barlig, Mountain Province.
