A teacher and a secretary died while two others were injured on Wednesday night (September 23) when their pickup truck turned over along a portion of the road running through barangay Sanafe in Lamut, Ifugao. Those who perished during the accident were identified as Roselyn Malingan (a 28-year-old instructor at the Ifugao State University in Nayon) and Wrechelle Hoggang Valenciano (a 33-year-old employee at the Mayor's Office in Lamut).
Those injured were Lalaine Canlas Malingan (24 years old, works at the Lamut Rural Health Unit) and Willaine Dango Tayaban (24 years old, also works at the Ifugao State University). The driver of the truck (Esteban Bulahao Bagiw) and a fifth passenger (Pelita Talaro Dango) came out of the accident unscathed.
The driver reportedly came from Solano, Nueva Vizcaya and picked up the five passengers in Poblacion East. He is now under the custody of the Lamut Municipal Police Station.
