Truck Falls Into A Ravine In Bauko, Mt. Province; 1 Killed And 1 Seriously Injured

One person died while another was seriously injured when a truck fell off a 300-meter ravine in the town of Bauko in Mt. Province. The accident happened around 10 pm on February 26 in Mt. Data Cliff, Lukib, Monamon Sur in said town. The two men were the only passengers in the truck.

According to reports, the two men who were identified as Joefrey Satsat (the driver) and Tarnate Lapas were on their way home to Bansa, Monamon Norte when they lost control of the truck causing it to plunge down a mountain side. A farmer living nearby heard the crash and notified the authorities who responded and arrived in the area for a rescue operation. The two men came from La Trinidad, Benguet where they delivered and sold vegetables on February 25.

Tarnate Lapas passed away on the accident site while Joefrey Satsat was rescued and immediately rushed to the Luis Hora Memorial Regional Hospital in the nearby barangay of Abatan. On February 27, Satsat was referred to and brought to Baguio City for further treatment.
