1 Soldier Killed, 3 Others Injured In An Encounter In Pinukpuk, Kalinga With Suspected NPA Rebels

One government soldier was killed while three others were injured during a firefight with suspected members of the New Peoples Army (NPA) in Kalinga on Saturday morning (February 28). According to a Bombo Radyo Baguio report, two of the soldiers injured are in critical condition.

The soldier who perished has been identified as Private First Class (Pfc) Vick Pario. Those who sustained injuries haven't been named.

Pfc Bayat was a member of the 501st Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army and they were conducting a Security Bayanihan in Banlao, Limos, Pinukpuk when they encountered around 10 suspected NPA rebels.
