Initial investigation showed that the truck had a mechanical problem. When the passengers of the truck saw the oncoming Victory Liner bus which was on its way to Baguio City, they signaled the bus driver to veer to the side. The bus driver was able to bring the bus to the side of the road but the truck rammed into it nonetheless.
