WARNING: Poisonous Shellfish Being Sold In Baguio City

The Philippine Star reports that some of the shellfish being sold in Baguio City are poisonous and are not fit for human consumption. Shellfish coming from the towns of Anda and Bolinao in Pangasinan were found to be poisonous by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).

Thus, authorities have advised that shellfish coming from the towns mentioned shouldn't be consumed by people. Symptoms for shellfish poisoning include abdominal cramps, nausea, and vomiting. You can read more about shellfish poisoning here and here.

According to Wikipedia, "There are four syndromes called shellfish poisoning, which share some common features and are primarily associated with bivalve molluscs (such as mussels, clams, oysters and scallops)."
