ONE FC 23 Results: Honorio Banario Loses By Submission To Herbert Burns Of Brazil

Honorio of Banario of Team Lakay was submitted by Herbert Burns of Brazil in their fight at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila Friday night. The two fought in the undercard of One Fighting Championship 23: Warrior's Way.

Banario opened the fight with a good leg kick. During a close exchange, Banario made the mistake of bowing his head down which prompted Burns to quickly go for a guillotine choke while he pushed Banario to the mat.

Banario escaped the guillotine attempt but in the scramble that ensued, the Brazilian ended up taking Banario's back. He attempted a rear-naked choke but Banario was able to shake it off. Burns went for another rear-naked choke and this time he got his hands deep into Banario's neck. The Cordilleran fighter had no choice but to tap out.
With the loss, Banario has lost four fights in a row. The one-time ONE FC featherweight titleholder lost his belt to Koji Oishi in 2013 and failed to retrieve it in the rematch. He took on Jadamba Narantungalag of Mongolia in May of this year but he lost via unanimous decision.

With the win, Burns improves his perfect record to 5 wins and no losses. He could be one or two wins away from fighting for the organization's featherweight belt.
