Geje Eustaquio secured another victory in the One Fighting Championship by humbling Japan's Kentaro Watanabe when they faced off in Jakarta, Indonesia in the undercard of ONE FC 17: Era of Champions. With the unanimous decision win over Watanabe, Eustaquio improves his MMA record to 6-2-0. Three of his victories were in the ONE FC. Watanabe, on the other hand, drops to 10-5-0.
In the three-round tussle, Eustaquio had to weather an early storm when he got rocked by the Japanese fighter early in the first round. But aside from this early scare, Eustaquio went on to dominate the affair. He was able to move away from Watanabe's haymakers while inflicting damage on his own via his kicks and punches.
With the victory, Eustaquio is
expected to fight Adriano Moraes next for the ONE FC's inaugural
flyweight championship belt. Moraes who headlined the card in Indonesia
has been spectacular in his win over Kosuke Suzuki. The word on the
street is that Eustaquio and Moraes will slug it out before this year
ends.
