Mayor Domogan Hands Over Php20,000 Each To Families Of Baguio Massacre Victims

Baguio City mayor Mauricio Domogan has handed checks worth Php20,000 each to families of the victims of a recent crime committed in Kayang Street, Barangay Hilltop wherein five people including three children were killed. The money serves as financial assistance to the families of the victims. The mayor personally handed the checks at the Baguio City Hall.

Addtionally, the Php100,000 which the mayor previously offered as a form of reward to anyone who can lead to the arrest of the suspect will be distributed among the family members of the victims. This information was posted on the official Facebook page of the mayor on April 17, 2014.

Here's the full post on the mayor's page: "Handing over checks representing P20,000.00 each as financial aid from the City Government to the respective family members of the victims of the massacre at Kayang, Baguio City. The P100,000.00 supposed reward for a tipster shall also be divided among the family members of the victims."

On the afternoon of April 6, a man entered an apartment building along Kayang Street in Barangay Hilltop and stabbed five people to death, three of whom were children. The suspect, Philip Tolentino Avino, surrendered the next day to Manila Vice-Mayor Isko Moreno in Cubao, Quezon City. Avino is now in the custody of the Baguio Police.
