Henry Lao, a prominent local businessman in Baguio City was found lifeless at his house in barangay Ferdinand on Tuesday morning (December 1). He had several stab wounds on different parts of his body. According to the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), the businessman was found around nine in the morning by relatives [Source: Herald Express]. A report by the Philippine Daily Inquirer stated that "Lao’s body was found at 10:30 a.m. by SP01 Jackson Pabillo, the first law enforcer at the crime scene".
Lao is one of the owners of Tiong San, a chain of malls and department stores with branches in Baguio City and the nearby town of La Trinidad in Benguet. He was 68 years old.
The Baguio City police believe that the crime probably happened the night before. It's still unknown if an individual or a group is responsible for the crime. Some of Lao's neighbors told police investigators that they saw a man leave the house around 11 pm the night before. Police investigation is ongoing.
