Two people died while two others were injured when a jeep fell off a ravine in Baculongan Sur, Buguias, Benguet on Thursday night (July 30). The incident happened in the vicinity of sitio Impugong. The mountain slope where the jeep fell is estimated to measure more or less 100 meters.
Those who died were identified as Mariano Lumiqued Dominguez Sr., a resident of Loo, Buguias and Jay-ar Riquardo of Tabuk City, Kalinga. Riquardo was the driver of the jeep. Those injured were identified as Myrna Bayas Dominguez, also of Loo, Buguias and Jay-ar Bogao Calilao of Conner, Apayao. Myrna Dominguez is the wife of Mariano Dominguez Sr.
Calilao was rushed to the Abatan Lutheran Hospital while Myrna Dominguez was brought to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC). One passenger of the jeep who was identified as Jojo Dodong Briones who is from Cervantes, Ilocos Sur escaped the accident unscathed.

According to the Buguias Municipal Police Station, the jeep just came from Poblacion Central, Buguias and was on its way to Abatan, Buguias when the accident occurred. Based on their initial investigation, the incident was caused by a mechanical error. The driver lost control of the jeep which led to it falling off the mountain slope. [Source: Bombo Radyo Baguio]
