Unless you've been living under a rock for the last two months, I'm sure you have heard how a road construction in Sto. Tomas, Tuba tragically led to the cutting and burning of trees as well as the disrespectful excavation of the earth. The man being tagged as responsible for this atrocity is no other than Baguio City's top public official. It's Congressman Nicasio Aliping Jr. himself.
In this blog, we've written about how almost all evidence point to Aliping as the mastermind. We've also written how Aliping promised environmental protection and preservation during his electoral campaign only to massively break it when the Sto. Tomas issue came out. We've also written how Aliping failed to stand up to his promises and the laws he claims to be a proponent of. And we've written about his irresponsible silent treatment of the Sto. Tomas issue.
With all of that said, some people might come to the conclusion that we are just hating on the Congressman. Yes, we do hate him. For what? For his hand in the damage done in Sto. Tomas.
We've also been accused of exaggerating things. Of making things look worse than what they really are. No we're not. The following video taken and produced by the Cordillera Conservation Trust shows exactly what's been done. We suggest that you watch it and see for yourself how serious the damage is.
